Jamie Lynn Spears has a stalker

If you're a paparazzo in Los Angeles, you're just doing your job, but if you're a paparazzo in Mississippi, you're a stalker. That seems to be the case for one Edwin Merrino, who was arrested Tuesday for following Jamie Lynn Spears and fiancee Casey Aldridge around. The Spears family filed a complaint after Merrino failed to leave the couple alone.
He was released later that day on a $1,096 bond and denies harassing the pair.
Merrino told the Associated Press on Wednesday that he was within his rights as he was at least 200 feet away from them when he got busted shooting the couple.
"I just think since I was the only one there, it was just easier for them to single me out," the L.A. based photog said, noting that he wasn't getting much action out of the area.
"The one picture I got was kind of by luck. I got lucky when I saw them at Wal-Mart when I was buying deodorant."
Merrino will have to appear in court on June 8, according to the McComb, Miss., Enterprise-Journal.

Having To Pick Only One

Women work harder than men?

A new study has found that women feel they have to work harder than men in a workplace.

Sociologists Elizabeth Gorman of the University of Virginia and Julie Kmec of Washington State University, carried out five different surveys given in different years, to different groups of men and women in Britain and the United States.

They discovered that a gender gap persisted in ratings of the statement: "My job requires that I work very hard," with women significantly more likely to say they strongly agreed.

Between a man and a woman who hold the same job, shoulder the same burdens at home and have the same education and skills, the woman is likely to feel she must work harder.

We argue that the association between sex and reported required work effort is best interpreted as reflecting stricter performance standards imposed on women, even when women and men hold the same jobs.

A lot of experimental research has shown that people rate the same performance as better when told it was done by a man. It follows that women have to do better than a man in order to get the same evaluation. Here we see how this plays out in the effort women must put in at work.

made me think...

Anger is a condition in which the tongue works faster than the mind .

You can't change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying over the future!

Love...and you shall be loved.

God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him.

All people smile in the same language.

Everyone needs to be loved... especially when they do not deserve it.

The real measure of a man's wealth is what he has invested in eternity.

Laughter is God's sunshine.

Everyone has beauty but not everyone sees it.

It's important for parents to live the same things they teach.

Thank God for what you have, TRUST GOD for what you need.

If you fill your heart with regrets of yesterday and the worries of tomorrow, you have no today to be thankful for.

Man looks at outward appearance but the God looks within.

The choice you make today
will usually affect tomorrow.

Take time to laugh, for it is the music of the soul.

Patience is the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears.

Love is strengthened by working through conflicts together.

Harsh words break no bones but they do break hearts.

To get out of a difficulty, one usually must go through it.

We take for granted the things that we should be giving thanks for.

Love is the only thing that can be divided without being diminished.

Happiness is enhanced by others but does not depend upon others.

For every minute you are angry with someone, you lose 60 seconds of happiness that you can never get back.

Do what you can, for who you can, with what you have, and where you are.

Life is a race, God is your rider !!! - Nice Thought.....

Winning Horse Doesn't know why it runs in race.

It runs because of beats and pains.

Life is a race, God is your rider.

So if you are in pain, Think, God wants you to win.

backgammon online

The Backgammon Masters, the operator of exciting online games such as backgammon, poker, online blackjack and Perudo has been excellently developed for players to have a great time playing. The site has a new look, more options and easy maneuverability to maintain support of the members as well as garner more customers to join and register.

Anyway, the whole event is hosted by online backgammon mega-site BackgammonMasters.com. While this site has been the leader in online backgammon for a long time, they have been dabbling in other areas. They recently opened an entire casino and now have a full blown poker room as well.

It's a cool take on online poker, I think. While other sites let you move funds between casino, sportsbook and poker room, I am not sure if there are other sites that let you play backgammon online with these funds. Check it out if you're in the mood for a game.

This Special Feeling ...

Just as you pass by me,
I can’t help but be filled w/ glee!
At last! I saw you today!
Surely, you complete my day!

Why can’t I explain?
This and all that I’m feeling
I can’t help thinking of you…
You’re the reason my heart had more “Lub dub” beat too!

Everywhere I go,
Every little thing you do,
Every time you’re around too,
Without a doubt I always notice you…

They say it’s a childish crush,
Some say its fondness,
While others think I’m infatuated,
But certainly, you are the reason, why I am bothered!

I may not know what I feel,
But I know this was real,
Overwhelmed by my feelings,
I won’t go seek for meanings!

For I know you’re much more different,
Falling for you, they say I have myself to prevent,
I don’t know where this feeling could lead,
Have to save this heart, before it truly bleeds…

Ipod Nano 4gb Silver: Apple Reaps Profits Again

ipod nano 4gb silver

Apple Inc. launched its latest portable media player iPod Nano 4GB Silver following the success of iPod. The the first generation of the midrange model from the iPod family got introduced in 2005. This latest media player from Apple uses flash memory like its predecessor iPod Shuffle but with a miniaturized version of the display screen and click wheel. Since introduction, this model has been updated twice by the company. It is the use of flash memory that makes this model different from iPod Classic.
The new Apple iPod Nano 4GB Silver is comfortable in working with iTunes on Mac OSX and Microsoft Windows. This latest version of iPod gets connected to the computer through the proprietary dock connector in the same way as the third and fourth generation iPods did. It took just nine months for the iPod nano to get developed. Available in a choice of two colors of black and white, this media player also has 4GB memory that could store 1000 songs. The new Apple iPod nano 4GB silver takes the support of general-purpose integrated circuits. This latest model from Apple weighs 50% lesser than its successor. There was a high enthusiasm in the market during the launch of the Silver. The positive response resulted in the heavy sales that created wonders. Apple Inc. succeeded in reaping heavy profits with the sale of this iPod.

Along with this media player, Apple has also released some accessories which includes armbands, and silicone "tubes." These accessories protect the media player from scratches. The combination of lanyard-earphone accessory that hangs around the neck avoids the tangling of earphone cords. Even though this media player from Apple uses the same connection as Apple’s FireWire iPod Cable, it does not support synchronization over a fire wire connection. The Silver has a stop watch and a multiple time zone clock function. It also has a click wheel feature that will lock the iPod when not in use and secures the calendar and contact. There were minor criticisms against this model. But they got settled in days and the sales jumped up creating new records.

GPS phone helps golfers to aim their tee-shots like Tiger Woods!

KTF (Korea Telecom Freetel) will help golfers to aim their tee-shots better with its phones equipped with a virtual golf caddy program. The option allows its users to measure the distance from the tee box to their current positions or from their current positions to the cup. For this, the phones carry the geographic information of some 250 golf courses in Korea and receive real-time data from satellites, the company said. Though the golf phones may look unprofessional compared to caddies on the golf courses, they actually provide accurate measures. According to KTF the system has a 5-meter accuracy range in most cases. It also shows the location of fairways, greens, sand bunkers and water hazards. Only two models are currently available but more will come to the market soon, the firm said. KTF said it also plans to expand the service to other countries in the future, since WCDMA phones can also be used in other nations such as China and the Philippines, two favored destinations of Korean golf lovers. The firm didn't specify when it would be.

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room.
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom.
One heart can know what's true.
One life can make the difference,
you see it's up to You!

Review: Summer movies you may have missed

For four months, movie theaters have been dominated by a succession of blockbusters from the usual suspects -- Bruckheimer, Spielberg, Disney, Rowling -- supplemented by a handful of newcomers (Seth Rogen and Shia LaBeouf, welcome to the big time).

"Once" stars Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova as an unlikely romantic -- and singing -- pair.

But spare a thought for some of the estimable smaller films that may have been trampled by summer's herd mentality. The blockbusters' crushing overexposure doesn't allow much breathing room for the kind of original, left-field pictures that require word of mouth to generate some buzz.

Some of these movies have done very nicely, thank you, relative to their production costs -- but they deserve to do better.

Take "Once," for example. The film recently crossed the $7 million mark, peanuts for the Harry Potters of this world (if a tidy return on a budget estimated at just $150,000). Even so, there must be an awful lot of people still to catch up with this little gem.

In outline a straightforward guy-gets-girl musical, "Once" is about as far from the Broadway tradition as it could get. Glen Hansard, from the Irish rock band the Frames, plays a Dublin busker/vacuum repairman who is befriended by an insistent Eastern European immigrant (Marketa Irglova). She likes his broken-hearted love songs -- or maybe she just wants to get her Hoover fixed cheap. She encourages him to record a demo. He gets her playing the piano again. As the cliche has it, they make beautiful music together.

"Once" works so well by keeping it simple. It's a story we've seen a thousand times before, but never in this register. Writer-director John Carney's masterstroke is to make musicians the heart and soul of the picture; the songs in "Once" really do spring from the characters, and it's thrilling to watch them develop over the course of the movie. Carney's faith in this simple human connection is a gentle but firm rebuke to the bombast and overkill that infects even the best of today's blockbusters.

There's a similar economy at work in "This Is England," the fifth feature from Shane Meadows. At 34, the working-class Meadows is one of the most intriguing talents to have come of age during the Thatcher era.

"This is England," his most autobiographical picture to date, is set in a small midlands town in 1983. Twelve-year-old Shaun (newcomer Thomas Turgoose) is mourning his dad, killed in action in the Falklands.

Shaun is lonely, vulnerable and a ripe target for bullies. At an age when his identity is up for grabs, he latches onto the kindness shown him by Woody (Joe Gilgun) and quickly falls in with him and his skinhead friends. In short order he has the buzz cut, the Doc Martens, the red braces and the Ben Sherman shirt. His mum is appalled -- but Woody and the rest aren't thugs and the uniform doesn't mean he's going to war.

Then Combo crashes the party. Played with seething ferocity by Stephen Graham ("Snatch"), Combo is a different kind of animal -- angry, wounded and ready to lash out. He has the St. George's Cross tattooed between his eyes and a swastika on the back of his head. His influence is immediate, splintering the gang. Woody goes one way, but Shaun gravitates towards the impassioned rhetoric and strength he sees in Combo, a father figure who flatters his sense of injustice and betrayal.

A bit like his compatriot Mike Leigh, Meadows develops his films through a long rehearsal process and improvisation, but "This Is England" is more raw and rough-edged than anything Leigh has produced in a while. It sticks with you, too.

And then there's "Rocket Science," another wry, idiosyncratic teen-angst comedy in the indie mold of "Napoleon Dynamite," "Rushmore" and "The Squid and the Whale" (to name but three).

Writer-director Jeffrey Blitz ("Spellbound") isn't going to win any prizes for originality, even if it's true that this plaintive comedy about a stammerer recruited onto the debate team is based on personal experience.

A sardonic narration voiced by Alec Baldwin injects a Wes Anderson flavor right from the fade-in, and it's carried over into the aspirational preppie grooming (bow ties and blazers), the slyly apropos indie rock score (Clem Snide and Violent Femmes) and Blitz's predilection for deadpan absurdism.

But if it seems a touch too smooth and familiar at the outset, "Rocket Science" veers unexpectedly off course, throwing a curveball that perfectly encapsulates the angst and befuddlement of adolescent romance and cleverly steers the movie away from the climax we had every right to expect. In its stead, Blitz conjures one of the more poignant and poetic open endings you'll see all year. That is, if you're lucky enough to live within range of the 70 or so theaters across North America that have shown this blissfully civilized cousin to down and dirty "Superbad."

That's not a put-down of "Superbad," by the way. (You can check out my review if you don't believe me.) But movies such as "Rocket Science" deserve some space in the megaplex, too. Demand them, go to them -- or add them to your video queue, because just because they couldn't get wide distribution doesn't mean they should fade like a summer's day.

how can i forget the way you smiled, the way you talked with the eyes
your sweet voice still is alive in my ears, though today you stay so far from the eyes

i can still smell you in my breath, and feel your warmth on my chest
the moments we spent lying over each other on the grass were the best

you will be my bride you had vowed, on the sunny day in my arm
you will never part you promised, and wont cause me any harm

but today i am lonely once again, surrounded by your precious memories
you left when all alone i will be you knew well, and left for me here and there only worries

a baby you will give me as a token you had promised
The days our body were two in fact but in one soul
what i got in your love and what was it that i missed
my brain i find in a turmoil when i go through the days we kissed

I still long for the moment i enlaced you, your breast with my breast collated
the warmth of your heavy breath feel i still over my cheeks and neck
the kisses which were at first tender
and became passionate, sensual and and desiring later

the curves of your body, i admired like in a dream
the touch of yours which rendered me supreme

your heartbeats which were counted only for me
and my every breath which were taken only for you
never shall i ever forget whatsoever happens to me
you were, are, and will be what you were for me

will you ever be in my arms, to quench the thirst of this heart?
will i ever see you again before i leave this world to part??

The history of chocolate...

The Olmecs, the oldest known civilization of the Americas, were the first users of cacao. Cacao is, of course, used for making chocolate, a word said to derive from the Mayan "xocolatl."

Hernando Cortez was the first European to note chocolate when he visited the court of Emperor Montezuma of Mexico in 1519.

The first chocolate house in Europe was reputedly opened in London in 1657 by a Frenchman. In the early 19th century, after the introduction of cocao powder in 1828, the English developed solid eating chocolate.

The first chocolate box was introduced by Richard Cadbury in 1868, when he decorated a candy box with a painting of his young daughter holding a kitten in her arms. Cadbury also introduced the first Valentine's Day candy box.

In 1875, after experimenting for 8 years, Daniel Peter of Switzerland added milk to chocolate to create today's familiar chocolate. His then sold his creation to his neighbour, Henri Nestle.

The 17th century French Cardinal Mazarin never traveled without his personal chocolate maker. King Louis XIV of France established in his court the position of "Royal Chocolate Maker to the King."

The chocolate chip cookie is invented by Ruth Wakefield in 1933. M&M sweets were launched in military ration packs in 1940.

In 1973, Swedish confectionery salesman Roland Ohisson was buried in a coffin made entirely of chocolate.

Chocolate is the number one foodstuff flavour in the world, beating vanilla and banana by 3-to-1. The pleasant feeling of eating chocolate is caused by a chemical called anadamide, a neurotransmitter which also is produced naturally in the brain.

Now ....Married troops can live together in Iraq.

When American soldiers get off duty in Iraq, the men usually return to their quarters, the women to theirs. But staff sergeant Marvin Frazier gets to go back to a small trailer with two pushed-together single beds that he shares with his wife.

In a historic but little-noticed change in policy, the army is allowing scores of husband-and-wife soldiers to live and sleep together in the war zone - a move aimed at preserving marriages, boosting morale and perhaps bolstering re-enlistment rates at a time when the military is struggling to fill its ranks five years into the fighting.

Long-standing army rules barred soldiers of the opposite sex from sharing sleeping quarters in war zones. Even married troops lived only in all-male or all-female quarters and had no private living space. But in May 2006, army commanders in Iraq, with little fanfare, decided that it is in the military's interest to promote wedded bliss.

The Train Ride

At midnight, a middle-aged man was waiting at a train station to cross the country to see his relative back east. As he stepped up into the train car, he noticed that the car was almost empty except for a young beautiful nun who sat by herself reading a Bible.

The man sat next to her, hoping to get some companionship during the long ride. However, the nun paid no attention to him. She just kept on reading the Bible without even looking up to him or saying a word.

Half an hour went by slowly and silently, which made the man more and more anxious to start a conversation. But he did not know how to start. The man then put his hand on the nun's lap. The nun blushed with a little bit of anger.

She turned around and said, "Dear sir, do you believe in God?"

The man replied, "Yes, I do."

Nun, "Have you read the bible? Do you know it is wrong to put your hand on my lap? Perhaps you should go home and read line 23 on page 157."

The man withdrew his hand and sat quietly until the train reached the East Coast. The next day, he opened up the Bible and was shocked to read line 23: "Heaven is a little bit higher."

Soccer History & Interesting Facts...!!!

Soccer has dramatically increased in its popularity in USA with nearly 3 million children between the ages of 5-19 now playing in youth soccer leagues throughout the nation.

In the mid-1800's in England soccer was played first.. The ease and in expense of the sport quickly moved it ahead as a sport for the masses however. And today soccer is the no.1 ranking sports for commoners.

The London Football Association was founded and 1863. It is responsible for standardizing game rules throughout Europe. In less than 20 years, professional players and teams were hitting the field.

Also throughout Europe Soccer began to spread, with Spain, Germany, Italy, and France. In 1900, the first soccer game was played at the Olympics.

In 1904, The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), was formed, followed by the first World Cup international competition in 1930. A round-robin style tournament that pits teams from individual nations against each other every four years, the World Cup has grown into an international affair, with nearly 200 teams now seeking admittance. Only 24 are permitted to compete.

Regarding US....

Although it took the United States years to enter the soccer arena on a widespread basis, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) was formed in 1913. Most Americans preferred watching (and playing) a different form of the sport -- American football -- until a Brazilian named Pele, (considered to the greatest soccer player of all time), joined the N.Y. Cosmos team in 1975. With such an amazing player to watch in America, popularity of the sport grew throughout the states, until his retirement in 1977, when soccer once again took a backseat to football. Following Pele's retirement, the North American Soccer League slowly lost fan support, finally dissolving in 1985.

The interest in youth soccer remains strong throughout the United States today. Sports teams and leagues are now available in nearly every American community. From pee-wee players who aren't even in school yet, to semi-professional high school teams, players of all interest and abilities are now hitting the soccer field for both spring and fall competition. The U.S. Youth Soccer, a division of the USSF, now includes nearly 3 million official players.

Taiwan butterfly

Hi,my friends:

I like butterfly, because there are a lot of butterflies in Taiwan. I used to climb mountain during the weekend, so I can see a lot of butterflies around the mountain. It is wonderful to watch those butterflies everywhere and to catch them for fun. If you look at them, you will find they enjoy the natural life very much. Sometime I think I would like to become a butterfly.

Salty Love Story [Touching]

- A Sweet Salty Touching Love story -

He met her on a party. She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he was so normal, nobody paid attention to him. At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to being polite, she promised.

They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, she thought, please, let me go home. suddenly he asked the waiter: "would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee."

Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but, still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it. She asked him curiously : why you have this hobby? He replied: "when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I liked playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea ,just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my home town, I miss my home town so much, I miss my parents who are still living there". While saying that tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched.

That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tell out his homesickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home. Then she also started to speak, spoke about her far away hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story.

They continued to date. She found that actually he was a man who meets all her demands; he had tolerance, was kind hearted, warm, careful. He was such a good person but she almost missed him! Thanks to his salty coffee!

Then the story was just like every beautiful love story, the princess married to the prince, then they were living the happy life...

And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee, as she knew that's the way he liked it. After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said:" My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie. This was the only lie I said to you---the salty coffee. Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt it was hard for me to change so I just went ahead. I never thought that could be the start of our communication!

I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything.. Now I'm dying, I afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste..But I have had the salty coffee for my whole life! Since I knew you, I never feel sorry for anything I do for you. Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life. If I can live for the second time, still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again". Her tears made the letter totally wet.

Someday, someone asked her: what's the taste of salty coffee? It's sweet. She replied.

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear.

Heart touching story

The passengers on the bus watched sympathetically as the attractive young woman with the white cane made her way carefully up the steps. She paid the driver and, using her hands to feel the location of the seats, walked down the aisle and found the seat he'd told her was empty. Then she's settled in, placed her briefcase on her lap and rested her cane against her leg.

It had been a year since Susan became blind. Due to a medical misdiagnosis she had been rendered sightless, and she was suddenly thrown into a world of darkness, anger, frustration and self-pity. 'How could this have happened to me?' she would plead, her heart knotted with anger. But no matter how much she cried or ranted or prayed, she knew the painful truth, her sight was never going to return. A cloud of depression hung over Susan's once optimistic spirit. All she had to cling to was her husband Mark.

Mark was an Air Force officer and he loved Susan with all his heart. When she first lost her sight, he watched her sink into despair and was determined to help his wife gain the strength she needed to become independent again.

Finally, Susan felt ready to return to her job, but how would she get there? She used to take the bus, but was now too frightened to get around the city by herself. Mark volunteered to drive her to work each day, even though they worked at opposite ends of the city. At first, this comforted Susan and fulfilled Mark's need to protect his sightless wife who was so insecure about performing the slightest task. Soon, however Mark realized that this arrangement wasn't working - it was hectic, and costly.

Susan is going to have to start taking the bus again, he admitted to himself. But just the thought of mentioning it to her made him cringe. She was still so fragile, so angry. How would she react? Just as Mark predicted, Susan was horrified at the idea of taking the bus again. "I'm blind!" she responded bitterly. "How am I supposed to know where I'm going? I feel like you're abandoning me."

Mark's heart broke but he knew what had to be done. He promised Susan that each day he would ride the bus with her until she got the hang of it.

And that is exactly what happened. For two solid weeks, Mark, military uniform and all, accompanied Susan to and from work each day. He taught her how to rely on her other senses to determine where she was and how to adapt to her new environment. He helped her befriend the bus drivers who could watch out for her, and save her a seat. Each morning they made the journey together, and Mark would take a cab back to his office.

Although this routine was even more costly and exhausting than the previous one, Mark knew it was only a matter of time before Susan would be able to ride the bus on her own. Finally, Susan decided that she was ready to try the trip on her own. Monday morning arrived, and before she left, she threw her arms around Mark, her temporary bus riding companion, her husband, and her best friend. Her eyes filled with tears of gratitude for his loyalty, his patience, his love. She said good-bye, and for the first time, they went their separate ways. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.... Each day on her own went perfectly, and Susan had never felt better.

On Friday morning, Susan took the bus to work as usual. As she was paying for her fare to exit the bus, the driver said, "Boy, I sure envy you." Susan wasn't sure if the driver was speaking to her or not. After all, who on earth would ever envy a blind woman who had struggled just to find the courage to live for the past year? "Why do you envy me?"

The driver responded, "It must feel so good to be taken care of and protected like you are." Susan had no idea what the driver was talking about, "What do you mean?" The driver said, "You know, every morning for the past week, a fine looking gentleman in a military uniform has been standing across the corner watching you when you get off the bus. He makes sure you cross the street safely and he watches you until you enter your office building. Then he blows you a kiss, gives you a little salute and walks away. You are one lucky lady."

Tears of happiness poured down Susan's cheeks. For although she couldn't see him, she had always felt Mark's presence. She was blessed, so blessed, for he had given her a gift more powerful than sight, a gift she didn't need to see to believe - the gift of love that can bring light where there had been darkness.

"You don't love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her..."

So if you love someone be faithful to that person.

10 facts about dreams

10. Blind People Dream

People who become blind after birth can see images in their dreams. People who are born blind do not see any images, but have dreams equally vivid involving their other senses of sound, smell, touch and emotion. It is hard for a seeing person to imagine, but the body’s need for sleep is so strong that it is able to handle virtually all physical situations to make it happen.

9. You Forget 90% of your Dreams

Within 5 minutes of waking, half of your dream if forgotten. Within 10, 90% is gone. The famous poet, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, woke one morning having had a fantastic dream (likely opium induced) - he put pen to paper and began to describe his “vision in a dream” in what has become one of English’s most famous poems: Kubla Khan. Part way through (54 lines in fact) he was interrupted by a “Person from Porlock“. Coleridge returned to his poem but could not remember the rest of his dream. The poem was never completed.

8. Everybody Dreams

Every human being dreams (except in cases of extreme psychological disorder) but men and women have different dreams and different physical reactions. Men tend to dream more about other men, while women tend to dream equally about men and women. In addition, both men and women experience sexually related physical reactions to their dreams regardless of whether the dream is sexual in nature; males experience erections and females experience increased vaginal blood flow.

7. Dreams Prevent Psychosis

In a recent sleep study, students who were awakened at the beginning of each dream, but still allowed their 8 hours of sleep, all experienced difficulty in concentration, irritability, hallucinations, and signs of psychosis after only 3 days. When finally allowed their REM sleep the student’s brains made up for lost time by greatly increasing the percentage of sleep spent in the REM stage. [Source]

6. We Only Dream of What We Know

Our dreams are frequently full of strangers who play out certain parts - did you know that your mind is not inventing those faces - they are real faces of real people that you have seen during your life but may not know or remember? The evil killer in your latest dream may be the guy who pumped petrol in to your Dad’s car when you were just a little kid. We have all seen hundreds of thousands of faces through our lives, so we have an endless supply of characters for our brain to utilize during our dreams.

5. Not Everyone Dreams in Color

A full 12% of sighted people dream exclusively in black and white. The remaining number dream in full color. People also tend to have common themes in dreams, which are situations relating to school, being chased, running slowly/in place, sexual experiences, falling, arriving too late, a person now alive being dead, teeth falling out, flying, failing an examination, or a car accident. It is unknown whether the impact of a dream relating to violence or death is more emotionally charged for a person who dreams in color than one who dreams in black and white. [Source]

4. Dreams are not about what they are about

If you dream about some particular subject it is not often that the dream is about that. Dreams speak in a deeply symbolic language. The unconscious mind tries to compare your dream to something else, which is similar. Its like writing a poem and saying that a group of ants were like machines that never stop. But you would never compare something to itself, for example: “That beautiful sunset was like a beautiful sunset”. So whatever symbol your dream picks on it is most unlikely to be a symbol for itself.

3. Quitters have more vivid dreams

People who have smoked cigarettes for a long time who stop, have reported much more vivid dreams than they would normally experience. Additionally, according to the Journal of Abnormal Psychology: “Among 293 smokers abstinent for between 1 and 4 weeks, 33% reported having at least 1 dream about smoking. In most dreams, subjects caught themselves smoking and felt strong negative emotions, such as panic and guilt. Dreams about smoking were the result of tobacco withdrawal, as 97% of subjects did not have them while smoking, and their occurrence was significantly related to the duration of abstinence. They were rated as more vivid than the usual dreams and were as common as most major tobacco withdrawal symptoms.” [Source]

2. External Stimuli Invade our Dreams

This is called Dream Incorporation and it is the experience that most of us have had where a sound from reality is heard in our dream and incorporated in some way. A similar (though less external) example would be when you are physically thirsty and your mind incorporates that feeling in to your dream. My own experience of this includes repeatedly drinking a large glass of water in the dream which satisfies me, only to find the thirst returning shortly after - this thirst… drink… thirst… loop often recurs until I wake up and have a real drink. The famous painting above (Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening) by Salvador Dali, depicts this concept.

1. You are paralyzed while you sleep

Believe it or not, your body is virtually paralyzed during your sleep - most likely to prevent your body from acting out aspects of your dreams. According to the Wikipedia article on dreaming, “Glands begin to secrete a hormone that helps induce sleep and neurons send signals to the spinal cord which cause the body to relax and later become essentially paralyzed.”

Bonus: Extra Facts

1. When you are snoring, you are not dreaming.
2. Toddlers do not dream about themselves until around the age of 3. From the same age, children typically have many more nightmares than adults do until age 7 or 8.
3. If you are awakened out of REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, you are more likely to remember your dream in a more vivid way than you would if you woke from a full night sleep.

See a sort of inexplicable enthusiasm, firm confidence and indomitable tenacity in his face?!! Marvelous?!!
For people who make themselves in distress because of futile, frivolous and trivial reasons?
Lets see him and learn myriad lessons from him?!!

Miracle man walks again

Monday, July 9, 2007.
He survived against all the odds; now Peng Shulin has astounded doctors by learning to walk again.
When his body was cut in two by a lorry in 1995, it was little short of a medical miracle that he lived.

Peng Shulin

It took a team of more than 20 doctors to save his life. Skin was grafted from his head to seal his torso? but the legless Mr Peng was left only 78cm (2ft 6in) tall. Bedridden for years, doctors in China had little hope that he would ever be able to live anything like a normal life again.

But recently, he began exercising his arms, building up the strength to carry out everyday chores such as washing his face and brushing his teeth. Doctors at the China Rehabilitation Research Centre in Beijing found out about Mr Peng's plight late last year and devised a plan to get him up walking again. They came up with an ingenious way to allow him to walk on his own, creating a sophisticated egg cup-like casing to hold his body with two bionic legs attached to it.

He has been taking his first steps around the centre with the aid of his specially adapted legs and a resized walking frame. Mr Peng, who has to learn how to walk again, is said to be delighted with the device.

If McCain vs. Obama, 28% of Clinton Backers Go for McCain

PRINCETON, NJ -- A sizable proportion of Democrats would vote for John McCain next November if he is matched against the candidate they do not support for the Democratic nomination. This is particularly true for Hillary Clinton supporters, more than a quarter of whom currently say they would vote for McCain if Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee. . . .

Incidentally, Mac 's foreign policy speech later today indicates a McCain administration will spend diplomatic efforts shoring up our allies. Obama, on the other hand, wants to work with our enemies. Big contrast there. Think Hugo Chavez. Ahmadinejad. Baby Assad. Kim Jong-il. Two totally different foreign policies between Mac and Obama.

Given the political events in Tibet, I've been reading about this place. I found some interesting facts:

- "Chinese researchers have discovered massive new gas and oil deposits totaling an estimated 4 billion to 5.4 billion tons in Tibet in southwestern China, the newspaper China Daily reported." - September 5, 2001 Global Policy Forum;

- "Gedhun Choekyi Nyima was recognized at age six by His Holiness the Dalai Lama as one of Tibet's most important religious leaders. Determined to control religion in Tibet, the Chinese authorities kidnapped this young boy and his family on May 17, 1995 just days after he was recognised as the 11th Panchen Lama.

Despite repeated appeals to gain access to him, no international agency or human rights organization has been granted contact with the young Panchen Lama or his family. To date, their well-being and whereabouts remain unconfirmed."

-"Tibet’s living Buddhas have been banned from reincarnation without permission from China’s atheist leaders. The ban is included in new rules intended to assert Beijing’s authority over Tibet’s restive and deeply Buddhist people.

“The so-called reincarnated living Buddha without government approval is illegal and invalid,” according to the order, which comes into effect on September 1.

The 14-part regulation issued by the State Administration for Religious Affairs is aimed at limiting the influence of Tibet’s exiled god-king, the Dalai Lama, and at preventing the re-incarnation of the 72-year-old monk without approval from Beijing." The Times, Aug. 4, 2007

-The VOA News 8 January 2002 Sarnath -- Tibet's exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, has reaffirmed his intention not to be reincarnated in Tibet or any other territory under Chinese rule.
In an address in Sarnath, northern India, Tuesday, the Dalai Lama said if Tibet is not free when he dies, he will be reincarnated in some free country elsewhere.

Observers say the Dalai Lama's statement is meant to discourage Chinese authorities from choosing his successor once he dies."

Lauren Conrad Bites the Hand that Feeds Her

The drama continues for the girls from The Hills. The current issue of Us Weekly states that Lauren Conrad felt betrayed by BFF Audrina Patridge. So Lauren tried to say on her MySpace blog that Us just published a sensationalistic headline to sell magazines. Now a source at Us Weekly is telling TMZ, "MTV execs loved the cover- and the storyline matched exactly what they're promoting for the "Hills" season opener on March 24."
But apparently Audrina "went into a rage" when she read the article so Lauren tried to backtrack with her blog post which in turn potentially offended the mag, a publication that plays a big role in The Hills' high ratings. So backpedaling yet again she's issued this statement: "It was never my intention to criticize Us Weekly as I have a great relationship with them. My statement was only meant to support and stand by my friends."
Kudos to Lauren for putting her foot in her mouth not once, but three different times, in the span of just a few days.

We all know that the price of many metals is at a high right now.
In recent months, I've heard of an alarming trend following this rise.
As more and more people are finding ways to earn money through scrap gold, silver, copper, and other valuable metals, they are turning to more criminal ways of getting to it.

There are much easier ways to get these metals, and they offer more than a get rich quick opportunity. In fact, you can invest in metals such as silver now so that you can get even more value out of it in the future. The Monex Deposit Company offers silver and other metals in easy to handle forms, such as coins and ingots, so that you can make an easy investment. As the demand for these metals exceeds the amount available, it is the perfect time to invest.

Gold, silver and other precious metals will always be at the top of the list when it comes to investment options. This is because these have very stabile prices and will slowly but surely become more and more valuable as time goes by.

Gold as well as silver are two of the most popular precious metals and are in high demand because right now, people do not need to spend a small fortune if they want to invest in precious metals.

Tactics to Increase Blog Traffic

A considerable portion of my consulting time has recently revolved around the optmization of corporate blogs (or the addition of blogs to revamped sites). As usual, I find a pattern emerging in the strategies that need attention and the pitfalls that must be avoided. So, rather than charging $400 an hour to give advice on the subject, I thought it would be valuable to share many of the most common pieces of advice here on the blog (business part of Rand fights with open source Rand, but loses, as usual).

Choose the Right Blog Software (or Custom Build)
The right blog CMS makes a big difference. If you want to set yourself apart, I recommend creating a custom blog solution - one that can be completely customized to your users. In most cases, WordPress, Blogger, MovableType or Typepad will suffice, but building from scratch allows you to be very creative with functionality and formatting. The best CMS is something that's easy for the writer(s) to use and brings together the features that allow the blog to flourish. Think about how you want comments, archiving, sub-pages, categorization, multiple feeds and user accounts to operate in order to narrow down your choices.
OpenSourceCMS is a very good tool to help you select a software if you go that route.-

Host Your Blog Directly on Your Domain
Hosting your blog on a different domain from your primary site is one of the worst mistakes you can make. A blog on your domain can attract links, attention, publicity, trust and search rankings - by keeping the blog on a separate domain, you shoot yourself in the foot. From worst to best, your options are - Hosted (on a solution like Blogspot or Wordpress), on a unique domain (at least you can 301 it in the future), on a subdomain (these can be treated as unique from the primary domain by the engines) and as a sub-section of the primary domain (in a subfolder or page - this is the best solution).

Write Title Tags with Two Audiences in Mind
First and foremost, you're writing a title tag for the people who will visit your site or have a subscription to your feed. Title tags that are short, snappy, on-topic and catchy are imperative. You also want to think about search engines when you title your posts, since the engines can help to drive traffic to your blog. A great way to do this is to write the post and the title first, then run a few searches at Overture, WordTracker & KeywordDiscovery to see if there is a phrasing or ordering that can better help you to target "searched for" terms.

Participate at Related Forums & Blogs
Whatever industry or niche you're in, there are bloggers, forums and an online community that's already active. Depending on the specificity of your focus, you may need to think one or two levels broader than your own content to find a large community, but with the size of the participatory web today, even the highly specialized content areas receive attention. A great way to find out who these people are is to use Technorati to conduct searches, then sort by number of links (authority). Del.icio.us tags are also very useful in this process, as are straight searches at the engines (Ask.com's blog search in particular is of very good quality).

Tag Your Content
Technorati is the first place that you should be tagging posts. I actually recommend having the tags right on your page, pointing to the Technorati searches that you're targeting. There are other good places to ping - del.icio.us and Flickr being the two most obvious (the only other one is Blogmarks, which is much smaller). Tagging content can also be valuable to help give you a "bump" towards getting traffic from big sites like Reddit, Digg & StumbleUpon (which requires that you download the toolbar, but trust me - it's worth it). You DO NOT want to submit every post to these sites, but that one out of twenty (see tactic #18) is worth your while.

Black Tea - Peach

I’m a coffee drinker. I don’t miss drinking two cups of coffee to sometimes 3 cups a day. But I’m starting to like drinking tea. They said drinking a cup of tea everyday has some therapautic health advantage. So I’m making sure to have atleast a cup of tea everyday. I specially learned about Premium Black Tea.
I also got interested with Organic black tea. It is the Scottish Breakfast tea that they describe as deeply satisfying tea that offers natural approach to a traditional favorite. It is made from distinctive blend of three black teas. It is perfect for morning, noon and night. So anytime of the day that I need to perk up myself, this tea is ideal. It is available for 8.99 for 15 infusers.
It sounds pretty good, you start with some Peach Tea and add in honey, lemon, and two shots of brandy. Then drink it down and your cold will be gone!

Home fitness equipment

Many people these days dread going to the gym because they are either too busy or usually the gym is too crowded. What if you could enjoy the gym, get a great workout, and save money all from the comfort of your own home?
If you were to get something for fitness, you will go for home fitness equipment instead. The treadmill will be too big for the house, I like the stationary bike. Unfortunately our current house is very small and lack of space, I can’t even fit in the gym ball, so can forget about stationary bike, perhaps when we moved to our new home, I can get a stationary bike.

This company has been serving more than a million customers all over the US. They have 55,000 products for sale, so you will most probably get whatever medical equipment you want from their site! Whether it is a wheelchair, surgical supplies, knee pads, lift chairs, electronics, or just whatever it is, you can get them at the website.

In the website, there is even a gift idea section, and perhaps you can give a medical equipment something for the health for your loved ones, instead of them buying it for themselves, huh?

Fusion Cash- Popular Product Testing

Well if you look at a lot of online money making sites i am sure you have seen this banner many times. Since i do frequent many money making sites i decided to find out what the hipe about Fusion Cash is. So i signed up.

Fusion Cash is a site that pays you to complete offers both that you have to pay for and that are free. The site features sites and products that you must try out and when you complete the requirements you get paid whatever price was offered. Some offers require a credit card but are still profitable since the amount to be paid is usually not much more than $5. However the best offers are the ones that require no payment.

Some money can be made through their paid offers. However the main reason that Fusion Cash is so popular is their referal program. When you refer somone you receive $1 when they activate their email, $2 when they complete their first offer and $5 when they cash out. So on one referal you could earn up to $8!!

I believe this is the main reason most people advertise this program. Most referals will earn you at least $3 since most people who have an interest will most likely try at least one paid offer.
Continued below........

It is possible to make some money with just their trial offers. But the best thing to do is what everyone else is doing and take advantage of their referal program. This is a GREAT program to try to promote on your Myspace or Facebook!

I will be doing that because most people will want to try it since some of the offers simply need you to fill out a form and you receive $5. I will also try out the free offers that you get paid for doing.

Increasing Blog Traffic Through Zimbio

In my quest to increase blog traffic (so I can tell writers at Mount Hermon how to increase their blog traffic) I've come upon another thing worth talking about. And that is Zimbio.

Zimbio is a wikizine site. It offers an absolutely simple way to have an e-zine without all the work involved in creating one of your own. (Though you can quickly create your own as well in Zimbio).

Here's how it works. You register at Zimbio. Then you can begin "publishing" your old blog posts or writing new articles in any number of existing e-zines. The e-zines have multiple contributors, which is why they are technically wiki-zines, so you don't have to work so hard to publish enough things to have an active e-zine.

It's worth doing this for a number of reasons:

1. you can re-use valuable content that has been buried over time in your blog. In this way, you "bring it to the top" in a new place, where people can see your work.

2. you automatically get links to your blog, potentially bringing people over from the e-zine to your bloggy doorstep

3. the links you get at Zimbio are more links to YOU at your blog, thus raising your Google rank (which means that Google will also show up at your bloggy doorstep more often too... and I can testify that this is happening here at Seedlings)

4. according to some blogging forecasters, things like the e-zines at Zimbio that are based on focused content, will ultimately be the most powerful ways that bloggers get noticed on the web

So there you have it. Between this post and the last post, I've mentioned several things you can do to increase your blog traffic. Here would be my recommendations as to where you might go from here, in this order, at least for now...

1. Socialize your blog and your posts

2. Register at Zimbio and re-publish some older posts.

3. Join Squidoo only if you have some very specific interests which would be easy to develop a quick page about. Like the way it was natural for me to do Writing Like Annie Dillard.

Oh, then just be yourself like you're used to doing. 'Cause despite your traffic, you know we really like you.

uTest: Paid Beta Software Testing & Bug Finding

uTest is a new company that anyone can sign up for. uTest is letting everyday people make cash by testing software and finding bugs in it. The idea is kind of cool – program manufacturers (Software Vendors) submit their programs to uTest then uTest hands them out to people like you and I. We try the programs and get paid per bug. I am assuming that the pay scale is higher for people who are highly skilled in certain areas and can find bugs with scripting and stuff like that. Either way, it’s a cool chance to try out some new stuff and make some cash at the same time.

Maybe you are wondering if you’ll actually find bugs so you can actually make money or if your work is going to be done for free. Although I am not a programmer, I know a little about the industry and can answer this for you.

Based on what I know and have read, 99.99% of programming is outsourced. And the majority of the time it is (believe it or not) outsourced to countries other than the US – like china. This is to save the company a ton of cash. So sine the programs are not written by an American who speaks English (and can read and write fluent English) there are TONS of little errors, especially grammatical mistakes.
(Whats really funny is that many people have been finding grammatical errors on the uTest site and pointing them out in every forum and on every blog…including the uTest blog)

*uTest is a new approach to software testing and should be considered. After all, we haven’t tried it yet, so why knock it?

* If people are really into software, it’s cool that they get to see a program first hand without buying it

*If you’re good at finding errors, this could be very profitable!

* uTest acquired 1.7 million for this program

* Is uTest a system created for lazy software companies? Are they basically saying “Just slop together the programming. It will cost us less to pay some averages joes to find the bugs than to hire a “real company” to test our products."

If you want to check out uTest its uTest.com. I only gave them one link at the beginning of the article. Thats all they get for now.
